Gaia Online Gone Crazy « Thread Started on Aug 7, 2007, 6:23am »
I've been on Gaia for a while, since roughly 2005 since I saw it in a magazine article. And it was really kinda cool, dress up your avatar with special items, event items, and shop commons. Of course they've majorly added to it since I've joined, now with cars, homes, a battle system coming up, and new games. I used to go for the chatterbox threads, come on, things like "barbie is a very *friendly* person" and "condemn help?", wouldn't you be intrigued too? Yeah. Although lately, there hasn't been much fun or content at all.
What you see now a days are bots, banning, and money threads. Where did all the love for hanging out with nifty lookin avatars go? If you ask my opinion, it's all gaia's fault anyways. They let people do that to the site by putting alot of good items out of reach from others with marketplace inflaters. If they just re-release some of the items that were older, there wouldn't be so much botting to try and get them! I mean, sure, marketplace inflaters and older members would gripe, but think of how much less work it eliminate for the moderators to not have to worry about banning members left and right. I know that gaia is highly under staffed and that they have much to deal with, but this factor would just make their job that much easier.
Although, gaia unfortunately doesn't listen to it's members voices like they should and it's a shame. More and more members leave because of the horror of being banned and loosing all their stuff. I'm quite frankly worried for my items myself; I mean, I worked immensely hard for alot of the items that I have, and if I got banned, I'd be pissed as hell. But anyways, I do hope that gaia realizes this on their own, (which they won't, but dare to dream I always say), so that the site will return to the fun site that it once was.
